Welcome to the Student Development Centre (SDC) and thank you for your interest!

Malaysian Education Development Plan for Higher Education of 2015-2025, launched in early 2015, contains 10 steps for the improvement of the national higher education system. The first step is to focus on the production of graduates with balanced, holistic behaviour and actions, and who possess entrepreneurial qualities and mindset, in order to strengthen the human resource system for the global development of the citizenry and nation.

The Student Development Centre is responsible for carrying out programs related to soft skills, co-curriculum courses for credit, the registration and supervision of courses for uniformed groups, graduate marketability activities, and activities related to UNIMAS alumni. As one approach that we hope will be effective in achieving the goals of the government in producing capable graduates with balanced minds, bodies, and souls, the Student Development Centre directly involves students in all their activities. The SDC also encourages elements of community service and volunteerism in each and every program to ensure students receive direct experience from projects in cooperation with civil society groups and other agencies outside of UNIMAS.

The challenge of producing holistic graduates at UNIMAS is not shouldered by the SDC alone. All faculties and relevant Centres of Responsibility play a role in our mutual efforts. Nonetheless, as the centre entrusted to hold the responsibility for coordinating all activities related to students toward the direction of soft skills development, the SDC shall work hard to coordinate and implement these activities with the help of the faculties, other campus centres, and the government and private bodies beyond our campus.

It is my great hope that UNIMAS graduates and other stakeholders will benefit from the programs that we hold. I believe with the cooperation of all parties involved, our graduates will not only possess holistic behaviours and balanced personalities, but will also possess strong minds with entrepreneurial values to quicken the national development.
